Down with Minimalism, Long Live the Frame

Forget minimalism!

In my opinion the best thing one can do for a great photograph sometimes is to put it in a snow white box. I am talking about unapologetic borders complete with some nerdy EXIF data squeezed neatly at the bottom.

Some frame makers frame art, me, I am framing my digital mess. And folks, frames are not just high-art snobbery reserved for masterpieces shot on high-end gear. I tested these hospital white borders on every photo coming out of my new and polished trusty Lumix or a loco loco children's camera that probably has a lower pixel count than Blind Willie Johnsons 's eyes.

Turns out, a fancy little frame makes a blurry photo of a northern bald ibis waldrapp birdy bird look like an intentional, award-winning indie underground film still. Scroll down to check out some examples and prepare to judge my photographic insanity. Warning: Side effects may include an uncontrollable wish to destroy the internet and all of its content creators.

I promise my next blog post will again be about sensible, adult photography.
